Nereida Gallardo Is Healthy

Cristiano Ronaldo and Manchester United just completed a double, winning the Premier and Champions League. The Portuguese star is now taking aim at Euro 2008, but he's already bagged another winner, Nereida Gallardo. The Portuguese beauty (Gallardo not Ronaldo) has shown us her assets (NSFW), already and now her friends are telling us her secrets.

Before she bagged herself the premier footballer in the world, Gallardo dated Pedro Campane, a 40-year-old football agent. Campane wasn't shy telling News of the World (note: always reliable, or not) all about his time with Gallardo.

"She didn't have any hang-ups. She liked doing everything in every position. Nereida doesn't know much about football but she knows lots about men—and how to please them. Cristiano must be having a mind-blowing time."

"I was introduced to her at a party and we became more than friends straight away," he said. "She was 22, very hot, and I wasn't going to waste any time. Conquering her was very easy. She liked partying and money and I could give her both."

Ha, she was an easy lay. All he had to do was part with his money. Hmmm...perhaps she's the one doing the conquering. Gallardo is tipped to become Mrs. Ronaldo, garnering even more money for her.

Koln seek Podolski return

Koln coach Christoph Daum is hoping to bring striker Lukas Podolski back to the club from Bayern Munich next season.
The 22-year-old Germany international has struggled to make his mark in his two seasons with Bayern, having risen to prominence with Koln prior to his switch to the Allianz Arena.

Daum told the Kolner Express: "If there is the possibility for us, then we will discuss the P-Plan.

"If Lukas gets the clearance from Bayern, then I am sure that there are people here who support us who can finance his move.

"We also know that an international player and an icon like him would not only open sporting possibilities for us.

"However, we have to pay attention to the Bundesliga's rules. Anything else would be unfair on Bayern, Jurgen Klinsmann and Lukas Podolski. We don't live in anarchy."

Mutu snubs Schalke rumours

Fiorentina striker Adrian Mutu has played down rumours of him making a switch to German club Schalke this summer.
The 29-year-old Romania international helped La Viola finish fourth in Serie A last season and the former Juventus and Internazionale frontman is more than happy to stay put.

Mutu commented: "I don't know anything about an offer from Schalke. If Fiorentina have offered me to them I would be most unhappy, but I do not think this is the case.

"Schalke are a prestigious club, but I want to stay in Florence."

Mutu has scored 38 goals in 70 appearances in two seasons with Fiorentina and is currently preparing to feature for his country at this summer's European Championship finals.

Owen out of England games

Michael Owen is expected to miss England's two forthcoming friendlies against USA and Trinidad & Tobago with a 'infectious virus'.
The Newcastle United striker did not report for training on Friday morning and is now likely to miss Wednesday's clash with USA at Wembley and the trip to Trinidad & Tobago the following Sunday.

Tottenham midfielder Jermaine Jenas has also been ruled out after picking up an ankle problem.

"Ahead of England's friendlies against USA and Trinidad & Tobago, the England squad has seen two changes," read an FA statement.

"Michael Owen was unable to report due to an infectious virus and is expected to be out for both games, while Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jermaine Jenas reported with an ankle injury and has returned home.

"The nine players from Manchester United and Chelsea who were involved in the Champions League Final in Moscow on Wednesday evening, will report for England on Saturday.

"David Beckham will report on Sunday, after LA Galaxy's game with Kansas City on Saturday."

Henry hints at France exit

France and Barcelona striker Thierry Henry has admitted he may consider retiring from international football after Euro 2008.
Henry, 30, has won the 1998 World Cup and 2000 European Championship with Les Blues, but is unsure whether he will still be around for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

"I want to be involved in the World Cup in 2010 but sometimes desire makes you do things you must no longer do," he said in L'Equipe.

"The World Cup is a long way off. You have to be sure that if you start playing the qualifiers in September, I think you must want to see it through until the end.

"We will see. I am going to be 31. Two more years isn't easy. I am going to see first of all what happens in the Euros.

"I have thought about making my farewells after the Euros. I have thought hard about this subject - I am not going to say I haven't."

Huntelaar focused on Euros

Netherlands striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar is hoping to impress for his country in the coming weeks, with a host of Europe's top clubs waiting to pounce for the Ajax star.
The 24-year-old has scored more than 60 goals in two-and-a-half-years in Amsterdam and Huntelaar is expected to move on straight after Euro 2008, with Real Madrid leading the chase for his signature.

The frontman told the Dutch media: "When you achieve good things you know that clubs are going to be interested.

"I am not thinking about a transfer. At the moment I play for Holland and I want to achieve things with them in the coming weeks.

"It is a nice tournament to show yourself. Maybe when the coach lets me play I will show myself and we will see what happens. The most important thing is the team does well.

"I still have a contract for two years with Ajax.

"If Ajax doesn't want to let me go, then I will stay in Amsterdam, it's that simple."

That Only Took Nine Months **UPDATE**

On Saturday, after three runners-up finishes, Chelsea fired its manager, Avram Grant. The Israeli replaced Jose Mourinho in mid-season and "led" the Blues to second place finishes in the Carling Cup, Champions League and Premier League. The latter two were won by Manchester United.

It was widely believed unless Grant was able to bring home Big Ears with a Champions League victory he would be fired. Even then, it was not clear he would remain.
Common opinion was that Grant was not a good manager. He lacked tactical nous, was not inspirational, and by the end of the season had lost the lockerroom. And, the team actually succeeded in spite of him.

The close season will bring boundless rumors for replacements and transfer targets for Chelsea. Surprisingly, there is an old, familiar face that has already entered the rumor mill.

Update: When asked about Grant's tenure, Mourinho likened it to a "loser." Furthermore, The Guardian has revealed that after the Carling Cup loss, Abramovich bought Mourinho a £2million limited edition Ferrari.

Mourinho had this to say about Grant's reign:

Asked if Chelsea's campaign had been the good one Grant depicted it as, Mourinho said: 'That depends on your philosophy of leadership. In my philosophy it was a very bad one because in football "almost" means defeat and Chelsea almost won the Carling Cup, almost won the Champions League, and almost won the Premier League. Almost is nothing.

'After two titles per season for the last three years there were zero titles this season, which in my philosophy means a really bad season. Maybe in the philosophy of a loser this was a great season, which I respect.'
Mourinho was stunned by the gift.

Mourinho was astounded when Chelsea director Eugene Tenenbaum called in February to inform him that Abramovich had purchased a rare Ferrari for the man he had removed from Stamford Bridge five months previously.

Customised with Mourinho's 'Special One' moniker, the 612 Scaglietti was one of just 60 produced to commemorate Ferrari's 60th anniversary. While still at Chelsea, Mourinho had told Abramovich that if he could have his choice of cars, the four-seat Scaglietti would be it. The list price is around £250,000, but such is its rarity the secondary-market value is as much as eight times that amount.
It must be nice to have the money to buy a £2million gift for an ex-employee.

Grant sacked as Chelsea Manager

Grant’s fairy stale story as Chelsea manager is over, as the club today confirmed that they have decided to end his contract with immediate effect. He wasn’t the right man for the job in the first place. It can be rightly called as a hasty decision, more like Steve Mclaren’s appointment as England manager. Yes, he has taken the title race to the wire, guided Chelsea to the first ever Champions League final appearance, but at the end of the day, when so much money has been invested it is not about finishing second or the way you finish second. Its about winning trophies. And at the end of the day, Grant has WON NOTHING. I believe that this was what ultimately convinced Roman Abramovich and Peter Kenyon to sack him after only eight months of his appointment.

Grant will be having no worries about this because he had nothing to lose. No reputation, No CV etc. We could have won three trophies easily this season if it was not due to his tactical inadequacies. The Carling Cup final against Tottenham where he played the players out of position and ended up losing, against Aston Villa, Tottenham, Everton, Wigan in the league were he failed to kill off the games only for it to come back to haunt. The list goes on. In the end, he was totally a wrong choice. But I give him credit for atleast stablizing what seemed like a very bad season and turned it into a fair one.

Lets hope that the Kenyon and Abramovich learn from their mistakes and bring in someone who has the potential and CV to manage a big club like Chelsea. Possible name mentioned are Frank Rijkaard, Guus Hiddink, Sven Goran Eriksson. I would love to see Frank Rijkaard for the wonderful football he brings with him.

Chelsea and Drogba set for talks

Chelsea have revealed they will sit down with Didier Drogba to sort out the striker’s future at the club.

Drogba, who was sent off in extra time of Wednesday’s Champions League final, has been linked with a summer move to several clubs including AC Milan.

“Didier is a superb player generally,” admitted chairman Bruce Buck.

“Now that the season is over we have to sit down with him and see what the story is and what his future is. He is a great player, I hope he stays.”

Buck added: “But that is a decision the club and Didier will have to make collectively.

“There have been some comments reported to be made by Didier over that last year that maybe he would like to leave Chelsea. On most occasions he has said that he has been misquoted.”

Drogba suffered a number of injuries last season that affected his performances, but the Ivory Coast striker was also reportedly unhappy at the departure of former manager Jose Mourinho.

And according to newspaper reports before Wednesday’s Champions League final, Drogba has said he is keen to play his football away from Stamford Bridge next season.

“This year he has had some niggling injuries but we know he can change the course of a game, as he nearly did in Moscow,” said Buck.

“As I have said, he is a superb player but if you are a world-class player, which he is, you have to avoid the silly red cards, the ones that come about over nothing and I think Didier will be sorry that he got that red card.”

“We decided several months ago that our squad size is a few players too many,” said Buck.

“It is about 28 now and it should really be 22 plus three goalkeepers. So there is going to be some movement just to get the squad down to the size we think is optimum.

“In terms of other transfers generally, every year we want to tweak the squad a bit so there will be some changes but I don’t expect there to be massive, wholesale changes.”
