Fergie upbeat over Hargreaves

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is confident that midfielder Owen Hargreaves will overcome his injury woes to feature heavily for the Red Devils in the coming months.

The 27-year-old England international has been troubled by tendonitis for most of his time at Old Trafford and has made just three appearances so far this season.

However, Ferguson told reporters: “He will be back. It has been frustrating for us and the lad, but he will play his part this season.

“It is difficult to say exactly when Owen will be back. We think he is managing it quite well, so we hope next week we will have some idea.

“He is doing a lot of good work with the physios and his fitness is fantastic. It is just when he takes part in a football session and has all the turning and twisting.

“The lad is desperate to play, that is what he came here to do.

“The fact he is a new player is a double burden to handle, but we have given him the best advice and I feel we are giving him the best treatment. He knows that.”

Ze Roberto calls for confidence

Bayern Munich midfielder Ze Roberto has urged his under-fire team-mates to overcome the fear that has enveloped them during a poor start to the season.

The reigning champions have endured their worst start to a Bundesliga season for three decades and are currently languishing down in 11th place in the table.

Coach Jurgen Klinsmann has come under increasing pressure in recent weeks and Ze Roberto has admitted Bayern will be playing to save their reputation against Karlsruhe at the weekend.

“You cannot put the importance of the game into words,” said the veteran Brazilian.

“The respect which the other teams have for us, which we have worked hard to get over the years, is on the line. I know that from my time with Leverkusen.

“When playing against Bayern, everybody knew that the prospects would be bad if we did not play extremely well.

“Now the players in the locker room are scared that we could lose this very strength. That must not happen. That is why we need to win in Karlsruhe.”

SPANISH FOOTBALL - LA LIGA ROUND 7 - 2008/09 SUNDAY GAMES RESULTS

Great Sunday of Spanish Football with Round 7 continuing & giving
plenty of goals to the fans.

VALENCIA CF continues its merry way & remains the classification
leader after winning NUMANCIA 4-0. DAVID VILLA (above) scored
twice (3min & 88min) to take his personal tally to 8 goals from 7 games.
Along with Villa, MATA scored in the 72th min & VICENTE.

VALLADOLID came back from death to grab a goal in the 91st min
from VICTOR to equalize the goal from RECREATIVO via RUBEN
in the 44th min

RACING & DEPORTIVO played out a typical “dog day” match
with posts & missed chances that left it all in a 0-0 draw

REAL BETIS finally won to ease their early season worries in a big
manner defeating MALLORCA 3-0. Betis scored early by rocking
Mallorca with a 1st min goal by DAMIA. Those were following by
PAVONE (above) in the 44thmin & EMAMA in the 84th min. Three

very valuable points for Betis.

REAL SPORTING battled a stiff OSASUNA under new coach
Camacho to pull out their second win with a 2-1 result. CARMELO

scored first in the 14th min to put Sporting ahead. EZQUERRO
would later equalize in the 14th min, too see later BILIC
put in the winner for Sporting in the 40th min. The 2Âşhalf was

an open affair with chances but no goals. Osasuna remain last
on the league ladder!

MALAGA grabbed a very needed victory with it´s 2-1 win
over a complicated GETAFE. SOLDADO put Getafe ahead in
the 9th min to later hit the post, & see how BAHA in the 30th
min & DUDA in the 37th min put Malaga ahead & thus give
the final
result.

FC BARCELONA keeps climbing positions & joins Real Madrid with

points with its tight 0-1 victory over a complicated ATHLETIC DE
BILBAO.
Barça kept on the bench Pujoy, Messi, Xavi …for rest &
battled with tooth & nail a messy Bilbao that frustrated play.

It was´nt until the 2ºhalf when HENRY controlled & placed a

magical ball into SAMUEL ETO´O´s path which he rifled into the
net in the 63rd min. That was enough, as Athletic tried hard to equalize
but failed in their envedour

ALMERIA
are a very organized, disciplined & class side that at home
complicate the plans of any visiting team. Tonight was´nt an exception
as SEVILLA fought it out with its hard battled 0-1 victory. The winning goal
came in the 52th min thanks to ADRIANO. From then on, it was an end to
end game with chances for both sides, the balance went Sevilla´s way.

First Vieira, then Henry, now Cesc. Will it ever end?

Cesc Fabregas must be getting pretty pissed off having to answer questions about his future all the time.

It seems that everyday a new story is published about his future and he has to keep coming out to deny the rumours.

Everything he says is taken out of context and I’ll readily admit that I have fallen for some of the rumours.

The poor lad can’t win. If he doesn’t respond and remains silent on the issue then he is leaving. If he does respond then he will only have to repeat himself again in the near future.

Fabregas shouldn’t have to keep announcing that he is happy at Arsenal. I’m going to take his word for it and I will never doubt him again over these rumours. If he is leaving I’m sure he will be the first to let us Gooners know.

It seems that the media have an agenda with Arsenal’s players. It used to be that Vieira was always about to walk out on us, then Henry was continually linked with a move away and now it is the next superstar at Arsenal, Fabregas.

Will this constant hounding of Arsenal’s best players ever end? I was worried that Fabregas would be influenced into moving away from Arsenal but someone quite rightly pointed out that Cesc is not easily led. Thank god that he isn’t.

He is very strong-minded and a determined individual. When he says he is happy at Arsenal I believe him.

The rumours will never go away about his future but I’m convinced that whatever comes from Fabregas‘ mouth is true. No more jumping the gun from me. He is happy at Arsenal and is surely the next captain.

Keep it Goonerish……………

Ligue 1 Weekend Review

Lille had the result of the weekend, tying Lyon 2-2 (after gifting Lyon an OG). The rest of the weekend saw a good amount of scoring, with only one 0-0 draw, as well as the return of the “Goal-scorer to get carded” award.

Saturday, October 18th:

Bordeaux 2-1 Toulouse - The Gironde Derby saw a dominant performance by Bordeaux and the emergence of Gourcuff as a potential Ligue 1 star (finally). Bellion and Cavenaghi (who has been extremely dangerous lately) forced Toulouse GK Carrasso into some big saves early, and then never let up the pressure. In the 29th minute, Gourcuff sent the ball through 2 defenders with a back-heel pass to himself and fired the shot home. Bellion made the score 2-0 in the 40th minute and the rout was on. In fact, Toulouse only had one first-half chance, and Valverde made the easy save on Ebondo. In the 55th minute Gourcuff had his shot cleared off the line, preventing him from scoring a brace. Toulouse only pulled a goal back in the 92nd minute when Valverde spilled a corner right at the feet of Capoue.

Caen 2-2 Grenoble - In a very even match, it was bookend goals by Grenoble that allowed them to salvage a point. Arkour put them ahead in the 19th minute, but Caen equalized almost immediately when Battles was adjudged to have handled the ball in the area, with Savidan slotting home the resulting PK in the 24th minute. Florentin put Caen up 2-1 in the 58th minute, but Moreira gave Grenoble 1 point when he slotted home his shot in the 74th minute.

Monaco 1-2 Nice - In a match that Monaco dominated statistically (6-3 shots on goal; 59%-41% possession), it was Nice who made their chances count for the win. Nice got on the scoresheet early, as Remy assisted on a beautiful goal by Bamogo in the 9th minute. The remainder of the first half was a little chippy, as yellow cards were distributed to Diakite (Nice, 33rd minute), Simic (Monaco, 34th minute), Rool (Nice, 35th minute), and Apam (Nice, 45th minute). In addition to his yellow card, Diakite also took down Meriem in the box for a PK, which allowed Cufre to score Monaco’s only goal in the 39th minute. The second goal for Nice came in the 57th minute when Fae was able to poach the rebound of a free kick off the post. Monaco became extremely frustrated towards the end of the match, resulting in a yellow card for Cufre (who wins the coveted “Goal-scorer to get carded” honors for the week), and a red card for Leko after a nasty clash with Modesto. Freddy Adu was subbed on in the 82nd minute for Monaco, but was fairly invisible.

Nantes 1-0 Saint-Etienne - Although they were dominated in time of possession (41%-59%), Nantes took their 3rd win in 4 matches. Their was plenty of excitement early, as Bekamenga (Nantes) headed just wide in the 19th minute, and an excellent Mareval free kick forced an even better save from Saint-Etienne GK Viviani. Nantes GK Alonzo was also called into action, saving a brilliant shot from 25 yards by Perrin and a header from Gomis. Bekamenga finally broke through in the 28th minute when he scored off a corner. The rest of the match was marred by 3 yellow cards to Nantes and 4 to Saint-Etienne.

Paris Saint-Germain 3-2 Lorient - Lorient last won on opening day, and that miserable streak continued on Saturday despite scoring the first goal (Saifi, 12th minute). Although PSG had more shots on goal (7-3), they looked suspect throughout the match. Pancrate was able to equalize at 1-1 in the 22nd minute, but Abriel put Lorient back on top in the 38th minute. They looked the better side until the 48th minute when their GK Audard sustained a hip injury and was forced to leave the match. Hoarau, who has been in excellent form lately, scored almost immediately after backup GK Cappone entered the match. The match remained tied until the 87th minute, when Arnaud slotted home the winner. Strange fact of the match: 4 of the 5 goals (the Abriel goal was the exception) were scored off headers.

Sochaux 1-1 Havre - This match featured the bottom 2 clubs in Ligue 1 and ended in an unsurprising tie. Sochaux had the more difficult trek, as they were reintegrating 6 players who were coming back from injuries. Alassane scored in the 45th minute to put Le Havre ahead, but Birsa equalized in the 72nd minute. Both clubs had chances to win the match, but both GKs made some excellent saves to preserve the tie.

Lyon 2-2 Lille - Lille got the most surprising result of the weekend, actually being unlucky not to win this match, which featured plenty of action. Early on, Beria forced Lyon GK Lloris in a great save, and Rami beat him in the 14th minute to give Lille the early lead. It was only an incredible blunder by Chedjou, who lobbed his GK Malicki for an own goal in the 22nd minute, that allowed Lyon to level the score. In the 62nd minute, Bastos blasted a free kick that bounced in front of Lloris and wound up in the back of the net. Lyon once again managed to pull level in the 75th minute when Grosso, returning from a 6-week layoff for broken ribs, got on the end of an excellent Juninho free kick. Benzema had a chance to win the game late, but Malicki made an excellent save.

Sunday, October 19th:

Auxerre 0-0 Rennes - In a match dominated by Auxerre, the end result was nothing but yellow cards (1 to Auxerre, 3 to Rennes), although Rennes managed to continue their streak of being unbeaten since the middle of August. Quercia forced a good save from Rennes GK Douchez in the 5th minute, and they continued to press throughout the entire match, later forcing Douchez to tip a Pedretti shot onto the post. Rennes did not get a shot on goal until the 36th minute, and was ineffective after that until the final 15 minutes of the game. During that time, Auxerre GK Riou made a good save on Thomert, and Rennes hit the post twice (Sow and Fanni).

Le Mans 2-0 Nancy - Although Nancy dominated the time of possession, holding the ball 60% of the time, it was Le Mans who had the most chances and made them count. The first goal came when Lamah sent in a poor cross that was pounced upon by Nancy defender Berenguer in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, Berenguer mis-hit his clearance, and the ball went past his GK Bracigliano. After Lamah slammed home the second goal in the 66th minute, Nancy appeared to give up and the rest of the match was relatively listless.

Valenciennes 1-3 Marseille - L’OM completely dominated this match, and made Valenciennes look helpless from the first kick. Kone put Marseille ahead in the 13th minute, and they never looked back. Valenciennes had their best oportunity when Tiene beat L’OM GK Mandanda, but the shot came crashing back after hitting the crossbar. Young phenom Ben Arfa slotted home a second goal for the club in the 73rd minute and the match was all but over. Valenciennes pulled one goal back when Pujol scored in the 81st minute, but Kabore sealed the 3 points for Marseille in the 92nd minute.

So, after matchday 9, the top of the table looks like this: (1) Lyon, on 20 points with a 6-2-1 record and a +6 goal differential; (2) Marseille, on 19 points with a 5-4-0 record, with a +9 goal differential; (3) Le Mans, on 17 points with a 5-2-2 record, with a +7 goal differential; and (4) Bordeaux, on 17 points with a 5-2-2 record, with a +4 goal differential.

DIABY’S TWIN BROTHER IN ARSENAL TRIAL

Arsene Wenger has given Abou Diaby’s “twin” brother a trial at the club.

Diaby recommended his brother and told Le Boss that his brother has an explosive temperament and has a lot of “bite” in the tackle.

Athletic Bilbao vs FC Barcelona Preview

Xavi Hernandes has been ruled out of today’s match against Athletic Bilbao. His ommision has been explained as a precautionery measure in the official club website. Xavi is making googd progress from a harmstring problem and should feature in the mid-week Champions League encounter with Basel. The squad chosen are ValdĂ©s, Pinto, Alves, VĂctor Sánchez, Puyol, Márquez, PiquĂ©, Abidal, Sylvinho, Busquets, TourĂ© Yaya, Keita, Iniesta, Bojan, Hleb, Henry, Eto’o and Messi. Notably Hleb makes a comeback and should see some time in the pitch. But the absence of Xavi throws up the usual combination used by Guardiola. In the absence of Xavi the creative spearhead role in the midfield should be done byu Andres Iniesta. Keita may be inadequete to do that role. That opens up a place for Thierry Henry on the left side of the attacking trio.

Athletic Bilbao lies fifteenth in the La Liga table. Barcelona in the last game has thrashed a far superior Atletico Madrid side and Athletic Bilbao should not come as tough. But how many times we have seen FC Barcelona failing miserably after an international break. Alves is back and should start at the right back position. Puyol is expected to start along with either Pique or Marquez. Abidal will be starting as left back with enough confidence from his performance against Atletico Madrid. The midfield most probably would be made of Keita, Iniesta and Toure. The forward trio will be Henry, Messi and Eto. FC Barcelona fans would be expecting great things from their side after the Atletico Madrid thrashing. But my advice - keep your expectation low; a 1-0 or a 2-1 victory would be as good as last match.

There Is No Tomorrow #

“What have I done to deserve to be hit by something thrown by a coward and a moron?” - Harry Redknapp after a 50p coin hit an assistant referee at Villa Park yesterday.

As Mr Redknapp was speaking after yet another ################################################################################### ###########################################################################
########################################################################
####################################################################
################################################################################
#########################################################

“I haven’t done anything wrong” said the man who is still being investigated along with other officers of his club over the bungs inquiry and associated issues of fraud and money laundering, the man who manages a club that is illegally run by Arkadi Gaydamak, an Israeli politician with a French arrest warrant for illegal arms dealing hanging over his head, the man who is known #########################
#####################################################################, the man who is manager, and is therefore responsible, for Portsmouth being the biggest ######### ################################################## in English football.
Apart from that, we cannot think of anything that Mr Redknapp has done wrong.

Although, the man must also bear some responsibility for the idiocies emanating from the mouth of his son, Jamie ” I believe that, I really do, I really do believe it, I really do, I believe it” Redknapp.

Portsmouth have extensive financial difficulties due to Arkadi wishing to sell his asset, Redknapp’s debt-based transfer policies, and the small ground reducing match day revenues.

In ScudamoreWorld, debt is a good thing.
This is because debt creates need, and need opens doors to the murky underworld that is destroying the great sport of football.
Massive liquidity from insider sources have existed on recent Portsmouth matches. Check out the details that we provided to our Dietrological clients pre-match on just a couple of the games:

Aston Villa v Portsmouth - ################################################# a massive corrupt market. I am not allowed to talk about this game but, if I had no choice other than to choose one team or the other, I’d go for +0.5 on Portsmouth. This is very very hot. ########################################################
####################################################################

Man City v Portsmouth - Major insider gambling event. We would ##################
####################################### prefer City on A/H.

Football is about to implode, massively but partially.

There will be an entity in existence following the fallout from the tsunami of truth that is about to surface, but the erosion of trust, the breaking of the bond between the Real fan and the game will be broken for ever.
The formation of AFC Liverpool in parallel to FC United of Manchester is the future direction - we were astonished at the strength of reaction to our musings about the setting up of a FC Celtic of Glasgow, one correspondent has even suggested that we get Chic Charnley as manager!
Real People don’t want debt-ridden private bodies owned by the murky and the dodgy.
They desire Proper Football.
Hyperreal People, on the other hand, have no idea what they want, as they have no idea where they stand on any social, political or societal issue…

Following the news that the Norwich City versus Derby County game was fixed for proprietary financial gain, the industry has moved into overdrive to cover their tracks, while denying that there were any tracks to be covered in the first place.

We mentioned the corrupt nonsense uttered by Scarface yesterday.
Scarface reckons five or six players would be needed to throw a game.
Scarface is either several sandwiches short of a picnic, or he is telling you porkies…

When ################## was deliberately underperforming for #############, he undertook his on-field machinations of his own volition. By making fake runs, poor passes, missing the target at a level that suggested an aversion to goalposts, he controlled the match outcomes. #####################’s career was nearly destroyed by having to play alongside a serial non-trier.
One player on the pitch and one market contact off the pitch is all that is required for massive manipulations to replace a magnificent match.

Following news that three more games are under investigation, two Premiership and Accrington Stanley v Bury, the defenders of the indefensible have been producing press releases like there is no tomorrow, which, is quite astute as there is going to be ‘no tomorrow’ for the current level of criminality.

The Association of British Bookmakers claim that there were no suspicious betting patterns on the Norwich v Derby game, which kind of flies in the face of the fact that the corruption was exposed by Spreadex, a British firm. The money surfaced across the planet at Half Time, not just the Philippines.
Which also makes the claim of the European Sports Security Association, that nothing untoward went on, rather myopic, at best, or murky, at worst.

What are these people looking at?
Yesterday, we traded on every Premiership game.
Every single match was manipulated in one way or another for the benefit of a range of participants in the betting markets.
EVERY SINGLE MATCH…
Not the two Premiership games in the last 6 years that the FA is currently trying to avoid investigating.
We are supreme at the moment in our trading.
Every Premiership trade won yesterday.
We were basing our betting, to a significant extent, on the corruptions at play.
If these matches were not externally corrupted, we would not be repeatedly correct.
##############################################################################
############################################
#####################
#########################################################################
###################################################################

Following the fallout of the East Anglian Affair, Roy Carroll was left out of Derby’s team for yesterday’s match with Plymouth - it was Carroll who gave away the penalty and got himself sent off in the allegedly rigged game.
His manager had claimed that Derby had nothing to do with the affair, which makes the dropping of the man at the centre of the controversy an unusual mode of behaviour.
#########################################################################
###################################################################
##################################################################################
################################################################

The authorities and the criminals share one common theme - the desire to prevent these machinations reaching the public eye - no exposure prevents Reality from trumping Hyperreality.

The individual who broke news of the matches under investigation by the FA states: “I went to the FA with one of these games 2 years ago. It took them 4 months to come back to me, even though I could have furnished them with all the information the following day. When they did get back to me, I found there was little they could do - they didn’t have the jurisdiction. That’s why I think it is a matter for the police.”

Of course, this was before Lord Triesman’s time and we should still trust that Triesman and Burnham are sincere in ridding the game of its criminal underworld.
The war between the FA/government and ScudamoreWorld is only just beginning.
Scudamore is leaking information about Triesman’s Communist Party Past.
We should be far more concerned with Richard Scudamore’s Psychopathic Present.

These games only came to light due to ‘unexplained’ betting swings in the Asian market.
The focus is always on Asia.

Check out the conversation below from Declan Hill’s book “The Fix”:

Hill: You can’t bribe a player in a European league, they get paid too much money…

Fixer: That is a common mistake. People see the amount of money that is paid in transfer fees but that does not go to the players.
You have to approach their agents, that is the way to get to the players. Say they get £50,000 a week. Then we offer them £150,000 for an hour and half’s work. Do you think they will turn that down? It is very easy to get them to say yes.
But all the leagues in the world, EPL, Champions League, World Cup, they can be fixed. I had players on XXXX, XXXX and XXXX [names three EPL teams]. You say these are great teams? They are ——–. We can bribe them.
You think because the clubs make big money in the transfer, that it means that the players won’t take a bribe. That is not true. They will take the money.

Hill: It must be difficult for you to approach English players though?

Fixer: Yes, I have heard that the English gangs are now trying to fix EPL games.
In the last four to five years the Englishman comes to Asia.
The Asians taught them how to fix games. One time they wanted to meet me but I refused. They are doing the same thing in boxing and rugby.

Meanwhile Gordon Taylor, Mr Big at the Professional Players Federation, misses the point entirely: “We need strong links between the betting firms and the sporting bodies.”

NO WE DO NOT!
This is what we already have.

What we need is global regulation to prevent insider and insider-linked betting on football matches, we need independent assessment of video replays, we need referees to be selected meritocratically rather than murkily, we need for the corrupt individuals to be removed from the game and, preferably, from society, #######

SPANISH FOOTBALL - LA LIGA ROUND 7 - 2008/09 SATURDAY GAMES RESULTS

Two games played on Saturday as part of Round 7 of “La Liga” with
Real Madrid taking the derby over Atletico de Madrid, & a
hard fought
game between Espanyol & Villareal that finished
without goals.

ATLETICO DE MADRID
lost 1 - 2 to REAL MADRID in an intense

“derby” that had it all: goals, red cards, action & last second miracles.

The summary is the following. A goal in the 1Âşst min by VAN
NISTELROOY
that was magic. That rocked Atletico who were lucky

that the referee disallowed 3 more goals. Their bad luck continued
when Perea was given a Red Card (harshly) for “hitting” Sneijder, that
left Atletico with 10 men. The referee then gave a Red Card (harshly) to
Van Nistelrooy for a hard tackle that brought the equilibrium back to
both sides. Overall bad referee performance overall in this game!

The 2Âşhalf was wild, exciting with both side looking for the win. Then in
the 90th min Atletico was awarded a free kick which SIMAO scored to
equalize, to later see in the 96th min Real be awarded a penalty which
HIGUAIN scored to give Real victory

Here is the VIDEO of the goals. Lets hope “You Tube” does not take it
off during the day. If so, SFS will change asap.

The game was also intense with penalty save which made Villareal
goalkeeper DIEGO LOPEZ the man of the match. The final result
was ESPANYOL 0 - VILLAREAL 0.

Surf into SFS late tonight for the rest of results, scorers & images
of Round 7 of “La Liga”.
