Things aren’t going so well for Arsenal these days.
While they’ve struggled in their last three matches, Arsenal are still in 4th place in the Premier League.
But now word that striker and Togolese star Emmanuel Adebayor will miss three weeks with an ankle injury suffered in Saturday’s 2-1 defeat at Stoke.
The 24-year-old sustained the injury after a tackle from Ryan Shawcross.
The Stoke defender’s challenge drew a furious response from Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger who accused the home side of overly aggressive tactics.
And Adebayor will now miss league games against Manchester United, Aston Villa, Manchester City and possibly Chelsea, who they play November 30.
Stoke City chairman Peter Coates strongly rejected Wenger’s claims that his team played in a dirty manner.
“I’m sure that none of our players would deliberately go out to injure anyone,” Coates said.
Fellow forward Theo Walcott was also injured in Saturday’s defeat.
Adebayor has nine goals this season, five in the league, and is Arsenal’s top scorer.
Get well soon, Emmanuel. The soccer world is poorer without you!

This is the image that sums it up in tonights Group H match between
REAL MADRID & JUVENTUS. Terrible night for the Spaniards on
their home ground where they were out played, & their mistakes were
severely punished. The final result 0-2 victory to the Italians.

The man of the match was DEL PIERO (below) who put in a
screamer of a game to score twice, in the 16th minute after a
Guti mistake, & again in the 67th min when Real Madrid were
most dangerous, to halt their advance.

Real Madrid tried it all after Del Piero´s first goal but ran into the
solid Juventus defence & missed their chances. Real Madrid claimed
a penalty to Raul who could have equalized if given, but Del Piero´s
second goal shortly later poured cold water over the Spaniards.
Unexpected loss to Real Madrid, that opens up a whole lot of question
marks to their play & future. Their qualification for the next stage is´nt
secure, unlike the Italians who are now in the “cruise zone” & leaders of
their Group. Worrying signs for Real Madrid, trust SFS, there are things
that happen on the ground that show weakness in the team this season.

Great match at AALBORG ( Denmark) with a 2-2 result against
VILLAREAL in their Group E clash. It was a “boxing” type game
were one punch was matched by the other with a better jab.

Villareal hooked in a great punch in the 40th min via ROSSI that
was matched relatively quickly in the 54th min by CURTH (below).
The exchange of blows continued into the 2ºhalf when G.FRANCO
connected in the 75th min to get his team ahead. But again, Aalborg
reacted & pulled in the equalizer via DUE with a brilliant goal in the
81st min. The match ended in a draw & the crowd on their feet.
Not a bad result for Villareal, they are advancing nicely in their Group.

Who knew Germany was such fertile ground for these things? Hot on the heels of 1860 Munich and Eintracht Braunschweig comes this gem of a shirt from the club ESV Greifswald. Don’t go searching for the team, it no longer exists, having merged with another club. The new club plays in the fifth level of German soccer.
With good reason, too. When you start pulling out shirts like this week’s, then you may as well fold.

If it were not right there in front of me, I would have a hard time believing this shirt existed. But then, if it were not right here in front of me, who would try to explain it?
“Well, you see, it’s got the red and black stripes, kind of like AC Milan, but running at an angle. But they’re not all over. No, they just run from one shoulder to the opposite hip. But the stripes are not solid, either. They are interrupted by a white space for the sponsor, which is bordered above by red, then black, then white again. Oh, and there are polka dots–kind of, they’re not really round–on the rib cage opposite the side where the AC Milan stripes end up. Can you picture it now?”
Uh, no.
Then there is the back of the shirt

I’m sure I have many rules for shirts stored away in my head. Every once in a while, one of them pops up. The one that does do here is: whenever you have to put the number at an angle, you have done something greatly wrong. Also, what’s up with German clubs and the club names on the backs of shirts? Does that happen anywhere else?
So, if you want to remember the time you took that trip to the Northeast corner of Germany hard up against the Baltic sea, you could buy this shirt. Or you could just drink yourself into a stupor. Your call.

“I’ve played against Ronaldinho in the past, but I think Ronaldo just now is incredible…He is probably as good an opponent as any of our players have ever come up against. He is a guy who can do everything. He looks unhappy when he scores just now, but he is still scoring loads.”
