The departure of players like Flamini, Hleb & Silva has lessened
the “impact” of the ARSENAL midfield, leaving all the responsabilities
in the hands of Cesc Fabregas. In this situation Coach Arsene Wegner
knows that his team needs a play maker with goal. That man is
LIVERPOOL Spanish International XAVI ALONSO & Wegner wants
him now in the “Winter market”.

Arsenal is willing to pay 14M€ according to paper “Marca”, but SFS
thinks that it´s not going to convience Liverpool to let him go. Alonso
is currently one of Liverpool´s best inform players & is currently an
important piece in the Liverpool machine which is leading the Premier
League.

Spanish daily “Marca” has run the story on this years upcoming
France Football Golden Ball Award. According to most experts
it´s a “5 horse” race, as France Football cuts its list to 30 candidates
on the 21st of October.

CRISTIANO RONALDO (Manchester United)
The hot favourite. However, doubts have set in after a very poor
Euro2008 performance & poor start in this seasons Premier League
due to his ankle operation.
LIONEL MESSI (FC Barcelona)
His evolution is steady & improving, his is currently at & beyond the
level of Cristiano Ronaldo. An Olympic Gold medal & a great start to
the Spanish League has put him up there & if he can put in some more
great exhibitions he will be very close.

FERNANDO TORRES (Liverpool FC)
The Golden boy of Spanish & now World Football. Great media
attraction, he complements it with goals, lots of goals. Vital part
of his team in Premier & Champions with decisive goals, apart
for the Spanish National team - the winner in the Euro 2008
final against Germany.
IKER CASILLAS (Real Madrid CF)
The Real Madrid goalkeeper has had an extraordinary last season. He
stopped everything & saved his team from defeats. Won the Spanish
League title & Euro 2008 stopping 2 penalties against Italy in the
Q/Finals. However, goalkeepers have´nt a good record in this award
as they are not as media “attractive” as forwards
XAVI HERNANDEZ (FC Barcelona)
Best Midfielder of Euro 2008, excellent start to the Spanish League with
goals & clinical balls to forwards. Xavi is finally getting the recognition
he deserves for his talents.

Great to see two Spaniards getting the recognition & the Awards fortheir hard work this season in English Football. Both are from
LIVERPOOL FC, one stops goals while the other bangs them in.
PEPE REINA, notched up his 17th consecutive match without allowingthe ball to enter "his" net against Tottenham this weekend, that & hisperformance all season gave him the "Golden Glove" Award, as the Best
Goalkeeper of The Premier League
In that same match against Tottenham, team mate FERNANDO
TORRES scored his 24th goal for the season in the Premier &
become the "Highest Goalscorer for a 1Âşst Year Player" in the History
Of English Football taking that honour away from Ruud Van
Nistelrooy. Torres also received the "Best Debutant Foreigner" of the
English Premier League.
Lets hope both players maintain the form for the Euro 2008 competition.
