New Atlético de Madrid Coach Abel Resino surprisingly decided to substitute
Argentine star forward SERGIO AGUERO in the 2ºhalf of their
Champions League clash against OPORTO last Tuesday. Many were
baffled & Aguero was even “shocked” as his face told the story as he left
the ground. Latter Coach Abel commented that Aguero was not at his best
& decided to simply give another player the chance. Fair enough you may say,
not so simple if your Atlético´s star player & commercially profitable
marketing asset, tell that to the sponsors.
Sergio Aguero has been pointed out as one of the suspected causes of
the substitution of ex – Coach Aguirre & Tuesday’s “incident”, added with
continual stays on the bench, has opened up speculation locally that there
maybe a new split at Camp Atlético between Aguero & his new Coach.
If you add to this that the grandfather of his new son Benjamin is none
other than Diego Armando Maradona, who has suggested he leave
Atlético for a bigger club & concretely Inter Milan, you may have reasons
to worry if you were an Atlético directive or fan.
It has not taken long. From Italy the newspaper “La Gazzetta dello
Sport” publish that INTER MILAN wants to have the services of Sergio
Aguero for next season & are willing to pay 55M€, which is his current
release clause in Spain. Various things here, it is being talked in “bars
& the workplace” that Atlético may well sell Aguero for this succulent
price. The player is not consistent & is turning out to be a bit of a rebel.

that is, Diego Armando Maradona

AGUERO rushed off to the hospital today to be along side his lady,
Giannine Maradona, as she gave birth today to their first son.
The boy was named BENJAMIN AGUERO MARADONA, & came to
the real world at 19.00 local time weighting 3,660 kilos. The baby is perfect
along with the mother.
This makes Argentine Coach & World Football legend DIEGO
ARMANDO MARADONA a grandfather!
If Benjamin plays Football when his older, & well, will he play for the
Spanish national side or for Argentina?

ARMANDO MARADONA is the closest thing to God in the World of
Football (Soccer) at this moment. Not only is his “hand” holy but the
Argentine National Coach & Selector has “THE WORD“.
A day before Argentina meets France in a friendly, Maradona gave
his opinion on various areas, in which one was about Spanish Football
& the current leader of “La Liga”. He gave his blessing to FC
BARCELONA of which he considers the Best Team in The World of
what he has seen lately. He believes also that Coach Guardiola is doing
an extraorinary job with Barça along with his excellent management
considering his relative low experience. For Maradona, FC Barcelona is
above the other teams like Manchester Utd, Inter, Liverpool & Real
Madrid.
Then the “Lord” blessed his disciple Lionel Messi praising his play &
inviting the player to overpass his greatness if he wishes & sets his
mind on it. Messi will play in the Argentine side as he does at Barça, on
the right wing with relative liberty of movement.

The news portal “elmundo.com” has revealed that last Wednesday, the
28th of January, the Director General of ATLETICO DE MADRID
Miguel Angel Gil, accompanied by his star player Argentine SERGIO
AGUERO with a close friend & executive of the Club, had a special
lunch at a well known Madrid restaurant to calm the “nerves” of
Aguero.
Alarms rang when various comments & stories came to light that the
Argentine star was frustrated & contemplating “greener pastures”. First,
reason is the inconsistent & frustrating performance of Atlético de Madrid who
hasn’t won a game so far in 2009. They finished 3ºrd on the League Ladder
in 2008 & are now struggling to stay 6th & in European positions.
Secondly, there is the psychological pressure from Diego Armando Maradona,
father of his girlfriend/partner & grandfather of his soon to be son, who has
suggested he leave Atlético for a better team, in this case Inter Milan.
Thirdly, there is a “rumour” that the relationship between Aguero & his
current Coach Aguirre is tense. Fourthly, Aguero exploded after
another frustrating game a couple of weeks ago to media claiming that this
is not the way the Club should go, with some indicating that perhaps it
was a message to change Coach. Lastly, a press report from 20minutes.com
reported that Aguero had made a “secret pact” with ex Real Madrid
President Calderon, a reported that was strongly rejected by Atletico.

All this has made nervous the Club & fans with the thought that its star
player maybe thinking of leaving the Atletico. This has prompted the
mentioned “summit lunch” to “calm” Aguero & give him guarantees in the
future that Atlético will be competitive enough to fight for the important
titles.
Apparently, & according to “elmundo.es”, Miguel Angel Gil explained
next seasons plans & promised further investments in signings, such as
a defender & midfielder. This apparently sooth the player & convinced
him to continue forming part of Atletico de Madrid for next season. But
as we all know, everything in Football is relative, what is white today is
black tomorrow.

ATLETICO DE MADRID Argentine star forward SERGIO AGÜERO
has a very close relationship with Argentine & World Football Superstar
DIEGO ARMANDO MARADONA who is also the Argentine National
Manager. Aguero is about to be the father of the son that Giannina, daughter
of Maradona, is soon to give birth.
The news from Italian daily ‘Corriere dello Sport’ publishes the words of
Maradona in reference to Aguero on his arrival last Monday at Milan
Airport…If I had to advise him anything, “is that he go to Inter Milan,
running” (translated).
There has been talk in Italy of INTER MILAN´s interest in Aguero & that
contacts have speed up due to the increasing interest of Manchester City.
The ‘Corriere dello Sport’ went further last week saying that Atletico de
Madrid may have hinted at opening the door if the price being spoken was
50M€ or more.
Officially the Spanish Club has a contract with Aguero until 2012 & has
no intention of selling its star. However, there is a rumour of “friction”
between Aguero & his Coach Aguirre that may make Aguero think further
his “father-in-law” advice. Many believe , including SFS who follows
Atletico de Madrid, that they are not able to deliver their promise or objective
of lifting a further step into the Great European Clubs category, that they
fall short & thus are not the Club for players of World Class status that look
for titles to gain the recognition they deserve
Tricky moments for Atletico as this comment by Maradona & his possible
personal influence on the young striker may fill his head with ambitions
that may go against Atletico de Madrid´s interest. Only one way to stop
this: winning, & winning big.
Maradona went further & advised fellow Argentine & current player of
Manchester United Tevez to do the same & go to Inter Milan!

The biggest Football star in Argentine history & arguably in the
World, DIEGO ARMANDO MARADONA has spoken & everyone
listens. The Argentine star has commented that fellow countryman
& World Football star LIONEL MESSI is too much an individualist
in his style of play & should rectify this “bad” tendency.
Some have interpreted this as a severe criticism, however others
(with more Football knowledge) see this as constructive criticism
in order to maintain the “boy” on the right path. Diego Maradona
mencioned that…”Messi at times plays for Messi“, an observation
that from SFS humble viewing angle agrees with Maradona.
This tendency is normal, Lionel Messi is a very young man who has
risen to the Top of World Football in an explosive way over the last 18
months. He wishes to excel & prove he is the best & that “energy”
sometimes causes him to look out for Messi 1ºst then the team. It is
precisely with this point that Maradona went on to add that Messi would
become a more complete player if he worked on strenghtening the “team
work” aspect.
With this said, one should interprete Maradona´s words as coming
from a Grandfather & in Messi´s best interests. SFS does´nt doubt
that Messi is sufficiently intelligent to think about it & become a
better team player. There is no doubt that Messi is destined to be
the World´s Best & with help from the “Leyends”, Managers, FC
BARCELONA…& the rest, he will remain on the right path.
